Hysitron, the world leader in nanomechanical testing, invites you to attend a workshop and user meeting in the evergreen city of India, Trivandrum, on September 20 to 22, 2015. This meeting is aimed at the users and those who are interested in the area of mechanical behavior and properties of materials at the nano to micrometer scale. The meeting will also cover current research and key developments in techniques and experimental methods to measure mechanical properties in operando testing conditions, particularly at elevated temperatures. In-situ mechanical testing techniques using SEM, TEM, AFM, Raman, and synchrotron are becoming increasingly popular for studying mechanical behavior of materials, which will also be an important topic in this meeting. Participation is encouraged for both students and expert researchers from industry, academia, and national laboratories. Poster Award will be presented to two best student posters.
The workshop invites abstracts that cover topics include:
- Mechanical properties including elasticity, plasticity, strength, creep, fatigue and fracture that are influenced by structural features of the materials
- Mechanics of deformation of high-temperature materials, high-strength materials, thin films, 1D, 2D, and other low-dimension nanostructures, and interfaces
- Imaging and analytical techniques to correlate microstructure, defects, crystal orientation, and strain field with mechanical properties
- Mechanical behavior of materials at elevated temperature
- Microstructural observations using in-situ techniques across length scales
- Industrial applications
- Atomistic and nanoscale modeling and simulation of material behavior

In addition to the invited speakers, the workshop program has a limited number of time slots available for contributed talks pertaining to relevant experimental research. Those wishing to provide a contributed talk or poster are encouraged to submit an abstract of no more than 200 words, as a Microsoft Word document, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please provide the presenter’s complete contact information beneath the abstract, and specify a preference for an oral or poster presentation. Submissions not accepted for a contributed talk will be considered for a poster presentation. For participation in student poster award, please email this poster award form.

The workshop prefers that you use your own laptop computer. However, bringing a backup of your presentation file on a memory stick is recommended.
Poster Presentation Guidelines
Posters should be prepared in portrait format (max 48" in height x max 36" in width); stands and pins will be provided.
