This Workshop on In Situ Electron Microscopy in Advanced Materials Research has an emphasis on sub-micro and nano scale and aims to bring together researchers and scientists with interests in combining EM (capable of real-time imaging) techniques with quantitative-nanomechanical testing, electrical testing and thermal testing, etc. These emerging hybrid methods enable the building of direct relationships between the microstructural evolution of advanced materials and their properties. These methods hold great promise to improve our understanding of the origins of mechanical, thermal as well as electrical properties, and of how these properties are coupled. The goal of this workshop is to share insights and experiences, to foster research communities and to promote collaborations between the experts from both academia and industry.

Organized by Zhiwei Shan Ph.D. and featuring invited speaker Oden Warren Ph.D. from Hysitron, this event will bring together the in-situ nanomechanical testing community.
